On Friday 10th November the IMPACT Project held a workshop for clinicians and cancer scientists to look at progress towards clinical translation. Participants were grouped at tables for discussion. Each table had a chair to focus discussion on the questions requiring input, and tables were broadly grouped across 3 areas of expertise - thoracic, abdomino-pelvic, and CNS/head &neck/breast. Discussions were recorded and summarised in coordinated feedback sessions. Colleagues are now preparing a report on the outcomes, and this will be sent to participants, as well as providing a valuable tool to inform research as the project enters its final year.
The IMPACT team are very grateful to all attendees for giving up a Friday afternoon to assist with progress. As Professor Alan Murray said, "Thank you again to everyone, particularly the clinicians who joined us... for giving us your commitment, time and input."
